About

Kim Crook

My interest in photography began when I was a child, receiving my first camera when about 8 years old. I was fascinated with the pictures I could produce from it. As a teenager I had a real passion for landscape photography.

I became interested in baby and child photography after having my 3 daughters. I loved capturing their natural expressions and their little personalities and I guess this is where my road to photographing 'little ones' began.

I still took any opportunity to photograph landscapes, and no more so, than when my husband and myself walked the Coast2Coast. Two weeks of walking and photographing the scenery was fantastic (even though the weight of the camera and lenses meant that my husband had to carry most of the daily luggage!)

It was when my daughter, Sarah, decided that she wanted me to photograph her wedding day (as well as having the role of 'mother of the bride'!) that my photography changed direction again. I had a year to prepare! I studied, practiced, and had training from another professional wedding photographer (I became a second shooter at his weddings and then went on to photograph some weddings for him).

Sarah's wedding day was beautiful and I know that she will treasure her images forever.

I realised how much I was enjoying photographing weddings, and this is where my photography career began. Capturing the excitement, emotion and sentiment of a wedding day is a such a beautiful experience, and I feel very privileged to be able to do this. I will capture the story of your day as it unfolds with not only the big moments, but the little details too. I am friendly, relaxed and discreet, qualities that enable me to capture those moments that as bride and groom you won't see until you view your images for the first time. I love to capture those little gems of a photo, and those unique photos, whether it be a stunning nightime shot or a quirky fun photo.

I will work with you in every way to ensure you receive the images that you will enjoy looking at for years to come, and that are a true and beautiful reminder of your special day.

I have been photographing weddings now for several years, and for me this is the greatest and most satisfying vocation.

Thank you for visiting, Kim
